The Conscious Sedation with nitrous oxide and oxygen is a mild sedation technique, very safe, with control of the administered volume. It allows the patient to restore normal consciousness a few minutes after the completion of the administration.
Also called Relative Analgesia for O2 and N2O, Analgesia Inhalation, among other denominations, although used by 55% of clinicians in U.S., it is almost unknown in Portugal.
The Conscious Sedation can be used in many more treatments, from simple surgeries, dental restorations, root canal filling or any task that requires anesthesia. Depending on the sedative and analgesic characteristics of the gas, some procedures may be performed without the additional administration of local anesthesia.

– The prevention of complications during treatment, including: fainting, blood pressure or blood glucose change and medical emergencies.
